The use of naturally based formulations is a much safer way of gaining relief compared to the use of drugs.

My office carries a good range of supplements that aid joint support and physical health which are safe and effective. Some are practitioner only and can be more expensive than those that are available elsewhere but are usually more effective, come from reputable suppliers and are backed by good research.

The information below is a taster of how the right supplements can aid you in the pursuit and maintenance of good health.

Joint Health

Joints that are not moving well will degenerate and eventually break down hence all of your joints should be checked from time to time.

Too many people are allowing their joints to jam up or subluxate and then wonder why they experience pain. Some joint pain comes from muscles that are not working right, muscles need to be in a good state of tone (not too tight or too lose) and this will help the joints to be much healthier. As a chiropractor I am able to check your muscles and work on these if they need my expert care. The most common joint problem is inflammation and that inflammation is commonly called arthritis when it affects the joints. This is like a fire within your body system. The use of naturally based formulations is a much safer way of gaining relief compared to the use of drugs.

Nutrients, Vitamins and Minerals

Nutrients play a vital role in keeping us well, vitamins and minerals offer essential nutrients for many functions of the body.

There are 13 essential vitamins and each benefits our bodies in different ways. Vitamin C is great for the body’s tissues, teeth, bones and skin (you can have grams of Vit C). Vitamin D - especially D3- is a sunshine vitamin and has an important role in bone health and our moods along with other body functions. It is very difficult to get enough Vitamin D from food sources alone so taking a supplement ensures you are getting a sufficient amount. Vitamin E (Tocopherol) aids the heart and the formation of red blood cells.

Selenium is a mineral which alongside the vitamins aids our health– but only in small amounts – no more than 200 micrograms a day. Selenium helps to regulate blood pressure and strengthen the immune system. Magnesium is another important mineral and is deficient in most of our bodies – over 320 enzymes are reliant on this mineral. Magnesium aids in the digestion of protein, carbohydrates and fat.

We carry a range of other mineral supplements that will enable you to improve your overall health.

Herbs contribute to our over all physical health.

We carry a good range of important herbs which are a natural, safer alternative to many of the commonly prescribed drugs which usually have significant side effects that we should avoid...

Gingko is a better alternative to aspirin long term and Kava is a very good relaxant to use to keep stress levels down. We have herbs for vein weakness which improve the walls of the veins - adding chiropractic adjustments can help in this area too. We stock a range of sleep assists which will give you a much more natural sleep compared to some sleeping drugs which often alter the body’s chemistry in a negative way.

Moods are affected by levels of serotonin; there are naturally based nutrients available that can help with this. St John's Wort is good for depression and is used frequently in European countries.

Other nutrients can help the body achieve a state of health that cannot be achieved by suppression of symptoms.

Good health is a goal which you can pursue and in doing so you will be doing yourself and the people you live and work with a great favour!
